Hypnotherapy for Anxiety

Sam Horton, an amateur boxer who drives a bus by day has told newspaper The Mirror that he has been undergoing regular hypnotherapy sessions as a means of curing his anxiety problem.

Horton, who normally drives coaches for National Express, Is soon to be up against a former olympic champion and has taken a five week break from his job to train full time for the fight. Bookies have made his opponent, also 24, a firm favourite for the fight but Horton is confident that he has a chance after losing just once in 16 consecutive fights.

However the driver of the number 120 and the number 140 from Dudley says that he is taking another form of preparation to make sure he is capable of overcoming anxiety caused by the big crowds of the Upton Park venue. NHS Scheme Could Reward Weight Loss Hypnotherapy

I'm not certain on the accuracy of this article but if it's findings are true then it is truly great news that the NHS are considering hypnotherapy seriously as a means of tackling the obesity epidemic. The following is taken from the article by William Hobson...

After the success of several schemes in the NHS trusts across England and Wales, NICE is considering offering obese people financial rewards for successful Weight Loss Hypnotherapy

treatments to lose weight could effectively be paid for by their final results if the proposals go through, particularly if such a programme follows the example of one pilot project in Kent which paid people up to £425 to shift their excess weight.

Advocates of the scheme at NICE say that by encouraging lifestyle changes through financial incentives, the NHS can save money in the long run. They claim that there would be significant savings by removing the root causes of lifestyle related health problems before they develop into costly medical conditions.

Let's hope this catches on nationwide. It's great news for the Virtual Gastric Band.

Hollywood Star Hypnotised for Addiction to M&M's

We all know how addictive chocolate can be. It can become a serious addiction for some people. The Following is taken from stuff.co.nz

Ben Stiller had hypnotherapy to cure his addiction to peanut M&M's.

The 44-year-old actor has joked that he sought treatment for his calorific habit in 1999 because he was consuming over one pound of the tiny sweets a day.

After hours of gruelling hypnosis session, he finally kicked his problem, but relapsed after just six months.

More than a decade later, Ben still binges on the treats every single day, and has now accepted he will never break his habit.

"The only thing I'm addicted to is M&M's. I actually went to a hypnotist to get over M&M's because I was eating a pound of peanut M&Ms a day," the actor told Total Film magazine.

"He helped me get off them in 1999 for six months, but it came back. So around 4pm in the afternoon, I have a packet of them."

Maybe Ben hasn't found the right hypnotist. If you are addicted to chocolate and desperate to kick the habit please contact me for a free half hour consultation.

Hypnosis for Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Irritable bowel syndrome is one of the most common disorders of the digestive system. The organisation IBS Network estimates that it affects one third of people in the UK at some point and to some extent, and one in ten people have symptoms bad enough to visit their doctor. IBS is characterised by a collection of symptoms affecting the small or large bowel, which can cause pain and discomfort. The exact causes of IBS are unknown. IBS sufferers usually have no physical abnormalities in the bowel, so it has been suggested that there is a strong link between stress and IBS. What seems to happen with Irritable Bowel Syndrome is that the bowel becomes super sensitive and responds with violent contractions or spasms to stimuli such as stress or simply eating a meal. Conversational Hypnosis

Everyday, we seem to encounter being hypnotized but we just don’t know about it and that it really exists. When we think about hypnotizing, we think about something that we lose our minds with and cannot remember a thing. But the reality is, just getting hooked up on TV, reading books and watching a movie is one way of getting hypnotized. Why? There is still a lot more to learn about which will also lead you to know about how to be hypnotize through conversation or shall we say, conversational hypnosis.

Being hypnotized is something that we do not want to happen to us because it sounds really, really scary and gives us a wrong connotation. But what can you gain if you know this conversational hypnosis. Well, there are a lot of advantages that we can get from it. For example, we wanted to persuade someone or to convince someone about something. Then, all we have to do is to use it and presto! We will be able to do the thing that we wanted to. Don't Panic

Hypnosis is a very effective way of treating those who suffer regularly from panic attacks. The reason this is so effective is because all the fears and worries you experience are stored deep in your subconscious mind, and the only way to get rid of them permanently is to reprogram your subconscious and replace them with empowering beliefs that create a positive calm attitude and confidence.

Hypnotherapy is an alternative for self help for curing anxiety attacks. It does not involve any drugs as already mentioned, as it's going by the natural way of curing any disease whether physical or physiological, and therefore is safe.

Internet Addiction Disorder

I have just read an interesting article on Internet addiction by hypnotist Bob Walsh. In the article Bob poses a series of questions for the reader to establish whether they have the symptoms. Here are the questions & to read the full article Click Here.

How To Tell If You Have IAD

A simple way to figure out whether you have an online addiction is to answer a couple of questions truthfully.

Do you often stay online longer than you planned to stay online originally?

Do you sometimes feel down, depressed or moody when you are "offline", and use the internet to change your emotional state?

Do you often thing about online experiences, even when you are not in front of a computer or other device that you use to connect to the internet?

Are you sometimes uncomfortable when you talk to others about how much time you spend online, and what you do online?

Do other people sometimes complain about the amount of time you spend online?

Do you sometimes neglect household chores because you are "too busy" and have too many things to do online?

If you answered more than one of these questions positively, there is a high probability that you might be a IAD candidate.

If you think you may have an addiction whether it be with the above or anything at all, hypnosis can be a valuable treatment. For a free 30 minute consultation please contact me.
